There is no calorie count on his diet. His principle is to choose healthy foods and monitor portion sizes. They provide weekly eating plans (suggested meals). Since strict diet plans make you not follow and give up easily, they set one small step up at a time. It seems to be very slow, but it is easy to follow. Some people may not able to stand the plan. Remember the story that a tortoise finally beats a hare. My diet plan is similar to his plan.

There are three phases.

Phase one (less than 4 weeks)

Increase physical activity and change old diet slowly. Propose to eat three meals and one snack a day, no eating two hours before bed, no alcohol (temporarily), drink water, and take a daily supplements (multivitamin, mineral, omega-3, calcium). The meal and snack should be healthy foods.

Phase two (more than four weeks)

Healthier eating and increased physical activity. Controlling physical and emotional hunger, removing six problem foods from your diet, weekly weigh-ins, and portion control.

Phase three

Maintenance phase. Get rid of more unhealthy foods and Add more healthy food. In addition, the diet allows you to enjoy your favorite treats in small portion like discretionary calories in the U.S. government's 2005 Dietary Guidelines.
