Is the Cabbage Soup Diet healthy?
You can lose weight quickly with cabbage soup with low calorie foods. But the nutrition is very poor. You should not follow this diet. There is also no exercise and eating behavior program. They promise weight loss of 10 pounds a week. But the diet may cause serious health problems. The cabbage soup consists of cabbage assorted low calorie vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, onion soup mix, bouillon, and tomato juice. The 7-day diet is cabbage soup plus fruits, unsweetened liquid (day 1), cabbage soup plus low calories vegetables, a baked potato with butter (day 2), cabbage soup plus fruits & vegetables (day 3), cabbage soup plus up to eight bananas, two glasses of skim milk (day 4), cabbage soup plus up to 20 ounces of beef, chicken or fish, up to six fresh tomatoes, at least 6-8 glasses of water (day 5), cabbage soup plus up to 3 beef steaks unlimited vegetables (day 6), cabbage soup plus up to 2 cups of brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices, unlimited vegetables (day 7). I don't think this menu can satisfy your hunger. You will not keep this menu, have rebound, and go back to your original weight. Cabbage soup doesn't have super ingredients to cause weight loss. It has just very low calories.
