Acai Berries for Weight Loss?

I would say acai berries do not help people lose weight as the conclusion. They became popular through Oprah Winfrey show. They are grown in the Amazon River basin in Brazil. They are deep purple berry and taste like a combination of wild berries and chocolate. A 4-ounce serving of pure acai contains about 100 calories, iron, calcium, fiber, vitamin A, and 6 grams of fat. Products made from acai are expensive because 95% of the berry is seed, and only 5% is the skin used to make food and beverages.

Acai berries have antioxidants protecting cells from damage by free radicals in the body. Antioxidants help against diseases such as heart disease and cancer. However, they are not helpful to lose weight although some web sites say they are effective for weight loss. They are more expensive than other antioxidants such as blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries.

Some companies provide free trials of acai berries products. But actually some of them ask your credit card information for shipping of the free products and immediately charge $80-90 per month.
