Are chia seeds effective for weight loss?

One of my friends just mentioned how Chia seeds are good for health. I checked it. Chia seeds come from the desert plant grown in Mexico. They are a whole-grain food and have concentrated omega-3, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, antioxidants, and calcium. The antioxidant levels are higher than blueberries. 2 tablespoons contains 139 calories, 4 grams of protein, 9 grams fat, 12 grams carbohydrates and 11 grams of fiber, vitamins and minerals. They have nutty flavor and can also be used to add to food and beverages. Although some companies claim that they are helpful to weight loss, some reports says they have some benefits for heart, but for weight loss. Further research is necessary to see if Chia seeds are beneficial for weight loss and heart health. Since they contains plenty of nutrients, my friend's recommendation seems to be true. The authors & medical doctors in the book "You Staying Young" recommend 20 grams (a bit less than 2 tablespoons) twice a day. If you have allergies to sesame or mustard seeds and are on high blood pressure or blood thinner medications, you should talk to your doctor because omega-3 causes a dose-response hypotensive effect in patients with hypertension and exerts a dose-related effect on bleeding time although there are no documented cases of abnormal bleeding.
