How does Fat Smash Diet work?

You may be familiar with this name because this diet was used in Celebrity Fit Club of VH1. Hollywood celebrities competed for weight loss to follow this diet. They don't guarantee quick weight loss. They provide information about a lot of healthy foods and more than 50 recipes. They says their diet is easy to follow like my diet. the diet is a 90-day program consisting of four phases.

Phase One (nine-day detox period)

It is the period that you cleanse the impurities from your system and get rid of your bad habits. I don't like the word "cleanse" personally because it doesn't sound like a professional word. Anyway the calories are reduced remarkably. Water is used to cleanse the body. Water is pretty important to burn your fats, carbohydrates, and even protein in your body especially when you do exercise. You need to eat four to five meals. It is good as I mentioned in my diet. The foods are taken as raw, grilled, or steamed. No deep fry! It is important. They limit fat intake, which is at most 3 tablespoons including 1 to 2 teaspoonful of olive oil per day. It is a little different from my diet plan. I think they want to reduce the calories as much as possible because fat is 9 calories per gram, carbohydrate is 4 calories per gram, protein is 4 calories per gram, and alcohol is 7 calories per gram. The other foods are unlimited fruits & vegetables except white potatoes or avocado, chickpeas, lentils, tofu, and beans, limited amount of brown rice, low fat/skim/soy milk, oatmeal, low fat yogurt, egg white, and herbal tea. All are good foods as I mentioned in my diet plan.

Phase Two (three-week period)

You eat four to five small meals a day as the phase one. Now you can eat limited additional foods including avocado, lean meats, seafood, whole egg, cheese, whole grain cereals, granulated sugar, butter, fat free mayo, coffee, fruit juice, diet soda, lemonade, and club soda. As I told you, I highly suggest you not eat cheese, granulated sugar, butter if possible.

Phase Three (four-week period)

Pasta, bread, one dessert per day are added.

Phase Four (final stage and lifetime)

Now wine, beer, pizza, and potatoes are included. But there are guiding principles of exercise, portion control, not skipping meals, and eating four to five times daily. You seem to be getting spoiled, but wine, beer, pizza should be occasional. Otherwise your weight is going back.

I think the the phase one is too strict and the phase four is spoiled. Some people may give up at the phase one. It is a wiser way to start at the phase two, stop at the phase three, and keep the phase three. A little strange thing of this diet is that exercise waits until the phase four. It isn't necessary to wait.
