Frozen Food for Weight Loss

There are six companies (Eating right, Lean cuisine, Healthy choice, Smart ones, Kashi, and South beach diet) selling healthy frozen food plates. The calories of one plate is around 250 to 350 calories. Eating right is cheapest among them. It shows fat content, but doesn't show what kinds of fats it has. So I avoid it. Healthy choice has plates with dessert and is tasty, but the dessert part pops up during microwave and makes mess in the microwave. Now Healthy choice has steam plates which are really good. They don't make mess. Smart ones has some plates containing high salt. Be careful not to exceed daily salt intake. South beach is a little bit expensive. All companies have pizza which has low saturated fat and high unsaturated fat. You bet no trans fats in it. You don't need to give up eating pizza. Healthy choice has desserts, too. I buy Lean cuisine and Healthy choice steam plates at Costco because they are cheaper than other supermarkets. But the selections are limited. You may use coupons in supermarkets and/or buy them on sale to save money. I can't say all plates are tasty and can say they are OK, but some are better than homemade ones. They are easier to calculate calories than homemade meals. They are by far healthier than fast food. It costs around $2 each. You should always check the nutrition label. The recommended standard is as follows:

300-500 calories

10-18 grams of total fat, or less than 30% of total calories

Less than 4 grams of saturated fat

Less than 600 milligrams of sodium

3-5 grams of fiber

10% of the Recommended Daily Value of vitamins or minerals

10-20 grams of protein
