Is Exercise Essential for Weight Loss?
Most people think exercise is a must to lose weight. People go to the gym and use abdominal machines so they believe the machines make your fat belly flat. But it is actually not so effective. Your belly muscles become stronger and bigger. But there is still fat on your strong and big belly muscles. As I told you before, diet is first & fast and exercise is second & slow to lose weight. To lose weight, exercise is not necessary. Look at Asian people. They are slim. Do you think they exercise harder than American people? The answer is "No." Diet, diet, and diet. Also exercise is not easy to continue for overweight people. You know that doing exercise regularly needs strong will. I would not say exercise is not effective to lose weight. I know some people succeeded in losing weight by exercise. But they also did diet, too. Strenuous exercise makes you hungry after exercise. Sometimes they eat a lot after exercise and get calories they lost in the exercise. You bet exercise is good. It is proved that exercise (cardiovascular) is good for your heart and decreases your blood pressure.
Weight exercise makes your muscles and bones stronger.
Moderate cardiovascular exercise burns your fat.
Hard cardiovascular exercise makes your heart stronger. However, I would say diet is a first thing if you want to lose weight. If you want, add mild cardiovascular exercise to your diet. Make sense? It is a good idea to go to the gym for both your body and mental health. Do mild cardiovascular exercise. And some weight exercise if you want. Doing sports is also a good idea because they are fun. I play tennis, and go surfing on weekends. Overweight people would be embarrassed to go to the gym and show their body to other shaped people. They may not like sports because they can't perform sports well due to their heavy bodies.
I recommend that they adopt an adult medium to large dog
which is already housebroken if possible. They need a walk in the morning and evening. You have to take your dog for a walk. You have to walk. That's mild exercise to lose weight. Good idea, huh? I have a 4 year-old medium dog (Staffordshire bull terrier). I have to take her for a walk every day, and take her to the dog park on weekends. That's really good exercise.
Pets can also reduce your stress.
But I have to emphasize that diet is the most important thing to lose weight.
