Oatmeal for Low Cholesterol

Oatmeal has large number of soluble fiber which is well-known to protect from coronary artery diseases (heart attack). Many research groups suggested that soluble fiber lowers LDL cholesterol known as bad cholesterol. Some groups showed it is more effective to lower LDL cholesterol in patients with hypercholesterolnemia than ones with normal cholesterol levels. One group showed that soluble fiber is associated with small but significant decreases in total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. That's the reason I eat oatmeal bars as my breakfast. I compare several nutrition bar prices. Oatmeal bars (Quaker) have best cost-performance and healthy ones. But there are fruit & nut bars which seem to contain a lot of unsaturated fats from one company (Mrs. May's Naturals).
